HAPPY FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN!

I'm kicking off the celebration of this season with a DELICIOUS Pumpkin Spice Gut Loving Latte Recipe. I was inspired, obviously, by the famous Starbucks PSL... but I wanted something that:

(a) wouldn't hurt my wallet

(b) wouldn't hurt my gut

(c) tasted like FALL!

You see, it's been quite a few years since I've enjoyed the fall weather (we were always in Florida!) and while my email subscribers got this baby a while back, I figured it was time to share it with you! The importance of the ingredients in this recipe:

  • Coconut Oil: Anti-microbial and anti-viral properties (helps heal those with digestive distress from yeast, candida, parasites, fungi, viruses, etc). It is made up of medium-chain fatty acids, which are easier to digest and absorb than other fats.

  • Grass-fed Butter: Also an anti-microbial and contains butyric acid, which has strong anti-fungal effects. Additionally, it is a great source of micronutrients like Vitamin A, D, and K2. I like Kerrygold brand (please get the one WITHOUT canola oil) because it's easy to find in most stores, even Walmart! It also makes the latte nice and frothy.

  • Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides: Made up of 18 amino acids, collagen is a great way to naturally heal the digestive system. It helps increase stomach acid production to better digest food and contains glycine and proline which protect the stomach lining. I like VP Collagen Peptides because it just absorbs right into the liquid without changing the taste. Also fabulous for the hair, skin and nails... NOTE: you can't absorb collagen topically, you have to ingest to get lasting results.

  • L-Glutamine: Glutamine is known to help "heal and seal" the gut lining. Although present in the VP Collagen, I like to add another POW into this latte! Important to get a quality brand!
